Mikasa City Museum
Magnificent displays include fossilized giant ammonite, designated natural monument fossils of the yezosaurus, and historical materials about the coal mining industry. Renowned as Japan’s foremost ammonite museum.
Behind is an outdoor museum. Along the riverside, exposed geological layers date back 100 million and 50 million years.

Mikasa Railway Village
A grand-scale railway museum. Displays include historical timetables, uniforms, and parts, as well as models of steam locomotives such as “D51” and “Benkei-go”. You can also attend classes on how to operate a real steam locomotive.
