Winters in Sapporo bring lots of snow. However, you can enjoy a stroll in the Sapporo Ekimae-dori Underground Walkway (known locally as Chikaho) totally unaffected by the weather outside.
One of the recommended events in Chikaho is the "Kuraché" market that is held several times a year. Each time, a theme is established and producers and shops, mainly from Hokkaido, set up stalls amid a relaxed atmosphere. The market could be a great place for visitors to take a stroll while searching for Hokkaido souvenirs.

The Kuraché will be held again, soon
